Having a baby is one of the most important events in any woman's life. It’s a precious time and it’s so important to provide as much nurturing and positive mindset as possible.

Pregnancy is a really wonderful time to practice yoga. Specialised pregnancy yoga classes both emotionally and physically, help to release any tension throughout the body.  Classes help to ease emotional changes while bringing balance and a feeling of grounding.

There are many changes happening during pregnancy such as hormonal and structural changes in the body. Therefore, a woman needs to be gently facilitated through a modified set of yoga movements that support both Mum and baby as she moves through each stage or trimester.

Pregnancy yoga is a wonderful way to also bond with unborn baby.  Through some very gentle breathing practices, you will learn about relaxation while also learning to prepare for birth through breath and visualisation.  
Many students have said that these classes really can help with their sleeping patterns.

Our classes are more than just yoga!  Our classes offer you a space for some down time; to connect with others whom are on the same journey as you, to share tips and information on pregnancy, birthing workshops available locally, preparing for the arrival of your new baby and very importantly, what is available for you after baby arrives through local Mum & Baby Groups or classes. This has always been a very valuable part of classes for our past students and they have found it a great and have great connections.

Pregnancy Yoga Classes will offer you:

  • Gentle stretching & strengthening of the body while strengthening pelvic floor muscles.
  • Time to focus on yourself and your baby.
  • Learn techniques to help relieve aches and pains associated with pregnancy.
  • Learn about choice of positions for labour and how you can ask for what you need from your healthcare professional.
  • Learn about optimal foetal positioning.
  • Learn about breathing techniques for labour & birth.
  • Spend time in the company of other Mums to Be.
  • Enjoy a lovely relaxation to send you floating home. 

Pregnancy Yoga classes are guided at a gentle and mindful pace.  Modifications of movements are offered if you are experiencing any particular issue such as pelvic girdle pain, back pain or any other symptom throughout your trimesters.  We offer plenty of comfortable bolsters, cushions or blankets for your extra support and comfort throughout class.  Each class will always end with a guided relaxation where you will rest deeply with your baby.

You will need to be 15+ weeks pregnant to attend class.  This will allow your Pregnancy to settle in and become stronger. You do not need to have practiced yoga before to attend.
